Larry is an intelligent, articulate, and insightful commentator whose views are shaped by a combination of journalism, entrepreneurship, law practice, and leadership. A common-sense business leader, he operated a successful marketing consultancy for 20 years. He is skilled in fundraising, artificial intelligence, and online communications.
He considers multiple viewpoints before forming an opinion. His ethos is the Boy Scout Law. He is a graduate of Amherst College and Seton Hall Law School and has also attended the University of Munich in Germany.
For Democrats of Greater Tucson, he organized the June 2025 Potluck Pool Party, the three-part Democrats Defend Yourself fundraisers on August 17, 24 and 28, 2025, and the Inspiring Generations of Democratic Leaders GenZ Panel fundraiser on October 24, 2025.

Democratic activist, attorney, and journalist, Larry Bodine, is awarded the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who’s Who, the world’s premier publisher of biographical profiles.
He has written for the liberal Blog for Arizona, a popular watchdog blog since 2017, focusing on Arizona politics, at Blogforarizona.net/author/larry-bodine, and is the author of more than 600 articles.
With 50 years of experience, Mr. Bodine was the active proprietor of Larry Bodine Marketing from 1991 to 2000, advising hundreds of law firms on business development.
Prior to starting this consultancy, he worked as the Director of Communications at Sidley Austin LLP in Chicago from 1991 to 2000.
From 2016-2020, Mr. Bodine served on the Attorney Advisory Board for LawLytics.com in Tucson, a legal website platform that empowers attorneys to grow their practices through increased digital presence.
He was also an Advisory Board Member of the Personal Injury Lawyers Marketing and Management Association (PILMMA), which inducted him into its Hall of Fame in 2015.
From 2011 to 2013, Larry Bodine was the Editor in Chief of Lawyers.com, a service of LexisNexis. With 3 million unique visitors per month, Lawyers.com is the top online destination for legal news for consumers.
From 1976 to 1978, he was a reporter for the New York Daily News, where his investigative journalism was recognized with 7 Journalism Awards.
Drawn to law practice as a result of covering jury trials, he is a graduate of Seton Hall Law School.
He further flourished with the National Law Journal in New York City as a reporter and Assistant Editor from 1978 to 1981.
Mr. Bodine transformed the American Bar Association Journal from an outdated law review into a cutting-edge legal magazine. In Chicago, he served as an Associate Editor from 1982 to 1985 and both the Editor and Publisher from 1986 to 1989.
From 1989 to 1991, he shared his wealth of legal knowledge with his peers as the publisher of Lawyers Alert.
Previously, Mr. Bodine was an associate with Stafford, Rieser, Rosenbaum & Hansen in Madison, Wisconsin, in 1982, working as a litigator and business lawyer. Mr. Bodine is a member in good standing of the State Bar of Wisconsin and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin in 1981.
He has been a Democratic activist for many years, starting as an elected Democratic Precinct Committeeman in 2006.
He was the President of Democrats of Greater Tucson from 2019 to 2023 and a Precinct Committeeman for the Arizona Democratic Party since 2006.
He also served as the Chair of Arizona LD18 Democrats from 2022 to 2024.
Bodine has been selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the Midwest, and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
He discovered his talents as a writer in grade school, growing up in Sioux City, Iowa. Mr. Bodine decided to pursue a career in journalism after completing his higher education.
Mr. Bodine began a journalism career as a reporter at the Star-Ledger in Newark, New Jersey, from 1973 to 1976.
He soon became drawn to the law through trial coverage.
